I absolutely LoVe FaLL!!! The colors, the cool crisp air, the snuggles, the hot cocoa, wearing scarves and fuzzy socks, wrapping up in cozy blankies, yummy soup, and pumpkin pie... the list goes on and on, and on and on!!! We have been picking up tons of pecans out behind the church. We had a contest with the pastors kids a few days ago. The kids all paired up in two's and headed out with a little bag... they came back with over 180 pecans in just a few short minutes! The fun part of it is it gets the kids outside and a little something different to do... kinda like a scavenger hunt! They love it so much!!! We started our school day like any other day today... I was in the mood for something different I guess... so we put things away after awhile and went outside for yet another nature hunt! This time we brought a paper sack with us to collect a few things... unsure of what we were going to do with all of our treasures we decided we better get a good variety! We picked up all sorts of leaves and dried flowers and things out behind the church... wanting a little more color to our collection... we decided to go to the duck park and see if we would find more there! As you can see there were plenty of colors here at the Friendship park... there was also plenty of wind... the church building must have been blocking it because we were not expecting it to be so cold when we got out of the car at the park. We ran to collect just a few red leaves for our unknown project... of course it started to sprinkle on us as well... so, we decide to run back to the car... we had to go the long way around though because Asa had to go across the bridge! He had a jacket on... however, Kylie Joy did not and as you can tell in the below picture she was not very happy! (yes, she has on flip flops, no, I am not a bad mom, I had them on too and, I probably will until there is a good snow on the ground! lol) They had to stop and look at all the ducks in the pond for awhile... then off to the car we raced! Half frozen, we drove home talking about what we would do with all our findings when we got there! Hannah was not very happy about how cold it was either... and she came pretty bundled up... Felicity even helped gather leaves... I wonder what her little mind was thinking... did she think we were going to have to clean up all the leaves?!?! haha Can you guess what the first thing we did when we got home?!? Yes, Ma'am!!! The kids warmed up with some hot cocoa, as for me, well, I had some hot tea!! Our very favorite fall and wintertime treat!! Now it's project time! What will we do... hmmm... Pinterest, oh how I love you! We looked and found several things we liked, then we decided to make a turkey, makes since to me, considering we are the lil' TURKey's!!! We had lots of fun today! Well, there you have it!!! ... and yes, mine and Felicity's turkey looks a little angry... I've been calling him my Angry Bird! haha That's all for now! Hope y'all are enjoying this fall season as much as we are!
