I know this is a really odd Friday finds today.  But wait, don't judge me yet!!  I bought this to repurpose it into something for my girls.  This dress cost me less than a buck.  For some crazy reason this idea popped into my head a day or two ago... Friday Finds to Monday Makeovers!  I am super excited about this idea.  On Fridays I will share a thrift store find and on Mondays I  will share the final product!!

WooWee!  This is an exciting find!!  While shopping at Aldi this week I found these adorable insulated RAINBOOTS!  I was worried they wouldn't fit because Lis wears a 12 and these are sized 11/12.  They fit her perfect, maybe even a little growing room!  @ $11.99 I was pleased with this find, however, it did make me go over my Aldi shopping budget (oops)!
Picture
Aren't they just so cute though?!?
Check out my wood backdrop, I found a piece  of paneling that is textured just like wood!
I'm in LoVe!
Picture
I found the time this week to get my mailbox painted.  I bought spraypaint for this months ago.  Our mailbox was black but mostly rusted, it had black and gold letters that I just know were from the 80's.  Did I mention the broken yellowish (maybe used to be gold) eagle nailed right in the middle of it?!?  All I need to do now is get some lettering for the address!
Picture
I found that Khols has there fall candles on sale for $5.99.
Fall Festival is the scent I went with, I love it!!
Picture
I found this candle a while back, also found awhile back that Choosing Happiness is the best thing to choose!  It definitely smells like Autumn with these two candles burning!
Picture
I made sure to find all my fall spices while shopping at Aldi this week!  We cannot run out of these!  Lots of baking coming up in our near future!!
I love fall flavors, but... PUMPKIN Pie Spice first!
Picture
I also found a few pumpkins at Aldi!  They are less than $3.
I doubt you can get them cheaper anywhere else!
That bag hanging on the chair is another Autumn find!!
Scented pine cones, my porch smells something close to heaven right now!
Picture
We found time to go to the park this week!
Picture
I'll leave you with this photo of my girls.  I have a story to share of why this photo means so much to me.  We'll save that for later though!  For now, have a lovely weekend!  Check back in soon, we had two photo shoots today!  Will post their story soon!

This week I got up in the attic and found my flannels and our fall decor!!  I also found this fall colored CorningWare coffee cup at one of our favorite thrifts.  Oh, how could I forget!!!  Coffee!!!  We went to Winn Co and picked out some coffee! Espresso!!  They have so much to choose from, you just grind it up there in the store!! I love the Espresso!  Puts a smile on my face even at 6am!!

Everyone needs denim and flannel, it's fall!
I found this flannel a few weeks back.
Found the time today to make Lis a fall skirt out of it!!
Picture
I looked on Pinterest today and found a way to clean the grout in the entry way!
It looks so much better.  Not sure why I picked a really rainy day to do such a thing, but I did.
Picture
Just in case your wondering what I used...
Picture
1/4 cup peroxide
1/2 cup baking soda (this box of soda has been under my sink capturing odors for like 4 years or so now, I was afraid it wouldn't work, but it did!!)
1 tsp dish soap (my dish soap is from my favorite all things safe and eco friendly company "Melaleuca, the Wellness Company"!  If you are interested in their products, please!!! contact me!!!)
Picture
Hope you all have an awesome weekend!  Looks like a lot of rain in our forecast, guess I will be stuck inside sewing!!!  So thankful for all our seasons!  There is beauty in all of them!

We all, well, most of us that is, have some kind of debt to pay off. My husband and I do not have tons of debt piled up, but we do have a mortgage.  Which to me is debt.  I hate the idea of paying for my house two x's.  I heard about this book and have started reading it.  It's been a good read thus far.  I am learning some money saving strategies, one of them being making your own laundry detergent.  I was skeptical at first because I really like my laundry to smell fresh!  Anyhow, I decided to give it a try and, much to my amazement, I LoVe it!
Picture
I used a bar of Zote, a bar of Fels-Naptha, Borax and Washing Soda.  I purchased these all at WalMart.  You can find it all on the laundry isle.  I usually buy 'Tide Original' because of skin allergies in our family.  This cost me almost exactly the same, however, it will last 3x's longer!  Super excited about my new detergent!  It's probably better for us anyhow!!
Picture
You do have to grate the bars of soap.  I'm a weirdo and actually enjoyed it. ha  I used our cheese grater and the buckets we use to wash the car.
Picture
Then I combined all the ingredients into a different bucket.  I added one cup of each until I ran out of soap and washing soda.   I wish I could tell you how many cups it ended up being but I forgot to count.  I had a little Borax left over, saving it for the next batch.  I put some in a jar (pictured below) and the rest in a bucket with a lid.  This jar sits on my dryer and the bucket is up in the cabinet.  I add a tablespoon to reg. laundry and 2 tbls to heavily soiled laundry and my load of towels/washcloths.
Picture
I'm a big fan of softener!  This is something I already had been using.  You can find Cleaning Strength Vinegar on the isle where regular vinegar is.  I add about 10 drops of Lemon Oil to the jug of Vinegar.  My washing machine has a place for softener, I fill it up to the bottom line.  Im guessing it's about 1/4 of a cup.   I purchase the vinegar at WalMart.  The Oil is from my favorite place to get Oils, Safe Cleaning products, Vitamins and Natural toiletries and such.  Melaleuca, The Wellness Company!  If you are interested in purchasing  safe/natural products let me know!

So a few weeks ago I found this book at our local thrift shop.  I sat it aside and forgot about it somehow in the mix of the hustle and bustle of the holidays.  Well, today I had six hours of sitting in the car, so I brought this little 'find' with me.   With no kids in the car, which is a rare experience for us, I read most of it aloud to Sam as he was cruising along.  We laughed and agreed with so much of what the author writes.  Maybe Sam can now see I am not the only crazy homeschool mom in existence.  It was good to see my feelings and reactions are so common with other hsm's.  I am a very strong KJV girl!  That is the only thing I would change about this book, I do highly recommend "LIES Homeschooling MOMS Believe"  by Todd Wilson.  You will not waste your time reading it!  ...and if you're reading this and you are a homeschool mom, keep your head up, sometimes it's hard, but like this book says,
" No one homeschools because it is easy.  Most do it because they think it is the best.  That should comfort you, because the best things are almost always the hardest things.  Think about it.  The things that are easiest are usually not very good for you, but those things that take blood, sweat and tears are worth everything.  So take heart.  Homeschooling must be really, really good because it's really, really hard."  ~Todd Wilson

Well, I have from time to time done Friday Finds on this website.  I had a different page for it. I have decided when I find something during the week that is worth sharing I will try on put it on here on Friday!  So here we go... OH!!! and by the way... HAPPY FRIDAY!!!    Today I am going to share some fall items I found at the Dollar Tree!  These are awesome finds and if you are anything like me you are anxiously anticipating the arrival of Autumn!!!  ... so here is what I found...
Picture
I am not always a fan of Dollar Tree flowers, but these are pretty decent looking, a good variety of fall colors and even a few burlap-y ones!
Picture
Felicity helped me pick a few things out and we fell in love with these owls that have dangling feet!  They will be perfect on the bookshelf!
Picture
They also have these pumpkins in several fall colors, and a variety of other pretty pumpkins about this same size!
Picture
I am not a huge fan of bobble heads but Miss Felicity loved these little guys so I let her get them!
Picture
When decorating for Autumn you have to have scarecrows so we picked up a few of these as well!!
Picture
More scarecrows.. these have dangling feet!
Picture
Another little owl and and pretty little pumpkin!  They had so much more but we probably have plenty of Autumn goodness to share now!!  The best part of all of this goodness is they are only $1 each!  Can't beat that at a yard sale!!!
Picture
One last Friday Find to share with you today!!  I picked up this awesome chair at our local thrift a little while ago.  I paid a whopping $4 for it.  It had UGLY all over it, but a can of spray paint and a little fabric from my stash transformed it into an awesome back porch resting spot... and a photography prop as well!!!  That's all for this Friday, wish you all a blessed weekend!  See ya next time!
