These two little cuties, below, came to town with their mommy and daddy! The little one was celebrating his birthday and we got to join them in the celebration! What better thing to do than go to the zoo on a pretty day?! We left the zoo just in time to spend a few minutes in the Science museum! Such a great time with family! Hope we get to do it again soon!!
We were well on our way to the Oklahoma City Science Museum and I realized I did not have my camera. ugh! Anyhow, I managed to snap a few with what little battery was left on my phone.
Asa had so much fun singing in the choir at church camp back in the summer, he decided to find a choir to sing in. We enrolled him in the Central Oklahoma Homeschool Choir in August and these kids have practiced their Christmas songs ever since! They did a wonderful performance, I was truly impressed with the choir and the instructors! So happy Asa has the opportunity to be a part of this choir! He had lots of friends and family come out to hear them sing! I wish I had gotten of photo of everyone. Here are some that we got before they snuck off!! Thanks all of you for coming out and supporting my boy!! The first photo was of the 11, 12 and 13 year olds. On the last song of the concert, all ages of the COHC came out and sang. It was spectacular! Way to go COHC!!!
We had some super sweet friends invite us to the Crystal Bridge Myriad Botanical Gardens this week!! Hannah's hair grew so big in here! lol Look at the leaves in the background of this photo! Wow!! It is amazingly gorgeous downtown right now! The kids had a blast in the park! We're thankful for good christian friends! "That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me." Romans 1:12 Hope you are all having an awesome Fall!!
The girls and I went to wash our hands before we ate. When we came out of the ladies room our guys were outside creeping in at us through the glass! What would we do without these silly guys of ours?!? ... and what kid would not love an orange creme soda?! Just waiting on our food! One of the best parts of going to Pop's! The lit up soda pop bottle outside!
Two Sunday's ago was potluck Sunday. We had our evening service early. After a bit of a rest, even though some of us were not feeling our best we thought it might be good to get out for some family time. We headed off on the back roads to Pops. We've only been to Pops as a family twice. We enjoy going out there. We drove a little down Rt 66 and ran into a little pumpkin patch farm sign. We followed the signs down the country roads and sure enough we found a place to have some good family time! The owners were super nice and even let us in on a huge discount because they were out of pumpkins, we had gotten there so late in the evening and it was there very last day and our very first time to visit their farm. We had such a good time, we plan to go back earlier in the fall next year. Thank you, Parkhurst Pumpkin Patch, for providing such a fun evening for us! The photo above is our family on a hay ride! We saw a buck on the ride! The kids loved all the animals! There were all kinds of farm animals around to love on! Most of us did not make it very far into the corn maze. Our already stuffy noses could not handle the smell of it. Allergy Alert!!! They had pretty fall decor all around! Lots of swings and things for the kiddos to enjoy! Hay bales to play on! And a rope swing!! My kids loved the rope swing. I thought we were never going to get them to leave because of it! We love fall! This is a great place to go for good family fall fun!!
Once again, we found a new trail at the refuge! The weather was perfect, the trail was not to hard and we had been told there was a waterfall at the end! Sam's brother Enoch went on this camping trip with us. Not far off the trail sat this guy! Sure enough, there was a small waterfall! It was a very pretty hike! This was kinda funny, maybe I should say corny. Those who know Sams brothers, well maybe thats all I should say... haha Enoch had told the kids he saw a lake on the way up the trail. On the way back down we went off the path to go see the lake. We came upon this spot in a rock and he was telling them about this lake he had discovered. Thus, the silly photo below came about! This below is the real lake he had seen. So beautiful! We love our 10 man tent. We had some rain showers during our stay, which caused us to spend some time playing boardgames and such inside! Going camping means a campfire! ... and lots of bike riding! We did a little school work while we were on the trip as well! That's all for now, maybe the weather will be nice for Thanksgiving and we'll join up with my family back out here at the end of November! Fun times!
It has been awhile since posting random goodness from my phone. My I Phone is like a dinosaur and the photo quality is something terrible. But hey, who carries a big 'ol camera with them all the time, and, you just have to take photos of everything you do, right? ~the hubs and I like to sneak away for a little quiet time every great once in awhile. All About is one of our favorite quiet spots! Downtown OKC! ~us right after getting my new specs! ~late one evening the girls and I felt like getting out and doing a little something before going to bed. Our guys did not want to get out so we headed off by ourselves. This is where we ended up. The girls were not so sure about getting on this big ferris wheel but they sure had fun running around and watching it. ~we'll go back as a whole family sometime and I just bet daddy can talk them into getting on! ~feeding the body and soul! Quiet Morning Time! ~these girls stick together like glue, don't mind their photos taken. Asa on the other hand runs from my camera! ~made them some much needed culottes. ~spent some time with Meme and Poppy. Xena got to celebrate some 4th of July time with us! ~Maggie moo did too! My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus' blood and righteousness; On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand. Hope you're having a splendid summer! :)I took head shots for Arm & Dolly LLC. They are a Five Star Moving Company in the Oklahoma City Area offering Home and Commercial Moves, Local and Long Distance Moves, Full Service Moves or Labor Only Moves. If you are looking for an easy move, call on these guys, they'll get the job done! ... and it just so happens to be I am madly in LoVe with one of the owners! ~We all brought our bikes this year. I enjoyed riding mine to the shower house each evening! Everything fit into my big basket just fine! ~The campfire is always fun! So we found a new, to us, hiking trail. We had to cross over these stairs to start the trail. Boy if we had known what a hike we had set out to! I think we went four or 5 miles!! ~If you want a really long but beautiful hiking trail, take this one! ~Asa on the lookout. Wait! No hunting on the refuge Asa! ~No worries! The kids did their schoolwork after our morning hikes. It was our downtime! ~Nothing better than a good ol' family devotion on the campgrounds! ~Sam cooked our bacon and eggs each morning while I made coffee and toast! ~hey! I was there too!! :) ~Oh give me a home where the BUFFALO roam.... ~We took the kids to the forty foot hole! It's a pretty good hike up the mountain and then you have to climb back down into where the water is running. We saw a bright, pretty lizard on our way! ~Such a pretty sight to see! Our Creator knows just how to make things! ~My kids are tough! Not a sissy in the bunch. We got scrapes, cuts and bruises and bites, no tears from any of them! They enjoyed the hiking so much! We had to slow them down a few times and remind them we were up on a mountain. ~By the time we were done playing all three girls had slipped in! ~Time to hike back up and then back down! ~Turkey and deer visited our campsite daily! I had lots of flowers picked for me! Such fun memories made! ~We enjoyed our family time! Love these babies of mine!!
We went out to the Wichita Mountains the Thursday before Labor Day weekend. It was such a fun time, we are all ready to go again soon! We pitched tents, cooked out, hiked and just had a great time! The wild life there is amazing, deer walked right through our camp site, raccoons scavenged around the site while we peaked out through the windows late at night, wild turkey roamed amongst us and of course the buffalo, longhorns and prairie dogs are fun to see as well. On Friday night, several of my family members camped out too, my camera battery was dead by then, so I didn't get pics, but we had a blast! We are looking forward to another trip this fall!
