We are offering Kindergarten Graduation Mini's for the Month of May! Click here for details MINIS~Kindergarten Graduation Is there anything cuter than a kindergarten graduate? I didn't think so! No kindergartners were in danger or injured during this shoot.... I love the sun in these last photos!
I finished up this book a few weeks back. I love this one!! It is a must read if you have a mind like mine. My favorite sections were "Training Your Thoughts" and "Winning Over Worry". I think I am going to go back and read the 10 chapters in those two sections again soon, just for a quick reminder!
Training Your Thoughts - Whatsoever things are true... think on these things. Philippians 4:8 She says in the book, "...choose to "think on these things" -these comforting, tender, and rock-solid, never-changing truths about God's care and concern for us- rather than focus on our own faulty thoughts or feelings." God cares for us! These four points she made in this chapter are really good. *I am fearfully and wonderfully made, no matter what I or others think about me. (Psalm 139:14) *He has a grand plan and purpose for my life, no matter how the present may look. (2 Timothy 1:9) *He has given me spiritual gifts that I can use to benefit other believers, no matter how I may be floundering or failing at the moment. (1 Corinthians 12:7-11) *I am always loved and accepted by God, no matter what I experience or who may reject me. (Romans 8:35) I think chapter 3 in the section Training Your Thoughts was just what I needed. Just as she admits that she second-guesses other peoples motives, I do this as well. She uses this as an example, "She hasn't called me in awhile, I must have done something to offend her." She advises to simply ask yourself, "What is true?" This will help to stop the second-guessing, the analysis, and the introspection that hinder the development of healthy relationships. She says, "Until someone tells you that you have offended them, only think on what is true. Choose to think no evil about people," she says. "Determine to trust what others say and do. Count on others to come to you when you have failed them and count on God to reveal where you have offended them, " she continues. It may sound silly, but this was something I was struggling with. I analyze everything, and just about everyone. Constantly wondering who I have offended or why this person did this or said that, what did I do. My mind was driving me crazy! I am so glad I did this Bible Study and realize I need to keep these words on my heart and in my mind. “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8 I do not want to make this post too long, but I do want to share a few more points from chapter 5. She says, "Your God is the God of the past, the present, and the future! He has promised to guide you throughout your life and receive you to glory afterward. "Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory." Psalm 73:24 "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever." Psalm 23:6 *Nothing will ever happen to you that God does not already know about. (Psalm 139:1-4) *Nothing will ever happen to you that is a mistake. (Psalm 139:4,16) *Nothing will ever happen that you cannot handle by God's power and grace. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10) *Nothing will ever happen to you that will not eventually be used by God for some good purpose in your life. (Romans 8:28) *Nothing will ever happen to you without God's presence. (Matthew 28:20) God Knows All About Your Life! In reading this book you'll learn to - *grasp God's purpose for life... and move toward it. *trust the Lord in all things...even those you don't understand. *think on what is true or real...about God and about your life. *live one day at a time...without worry or anxiety. *navigate the maze of life...successfully. Note: By recommending this book I am not suggesting you follow the author, nor am I saying I agree with everything she has ever said. I had never heard of her prior to the title of the book catching my eye on the book shelf. Like I always say when I recommend a book, I am a strong KJV girl. This book uses other translations. I encourage you to read this book, however, pull out your Bible and read the verses for yourself to see what it says! I would never recommend a book that changes doctrine of God's Word. If I read a book, for instance this one, that has a good message, and sticks with the teaching of the Word, I will share it with you! Happy Reading! xoxo Kylie turned 8 last week. Between being super busy and the wind being crazy I was beginning to wonder if we would ever get a chance to get a few 8yr old pics. I might share a few more later when I get a chance to do a little more editing. Just thought I'd share these being we are so late getting them taken! ~Happy Birthday beautiful girl!
After almost 9 months of Kindergarten, we are wrapping things up and getting ready for our littlest Miss to have a small graduation ceremony/party. We got her little pink cap and gown in the mail and my mind started wondering to all sorts of photos she needs to have taken for this celebration! She recently added these flashcards to her pile of daily reading. With that said, look our first grade! I think she is more than ready for you!! I decided we needed a cute desk for her photos. And, I just happened to have a few in the garage! After sanding this old ugly thing down, I sprayed a few coats of paint on it. Loving the color and thinking pretty strongly about painting the top with black chalkboard paint! Sure hope you're having a lovely spring! See ya again soon!
One of my favorite times of the year! SPRING!!! I love spring because it means winter (my least favorite time of year) has passed! Trees are budding, daffodils are showing off their bright color, and Resurrection Sunday is a week away! Welcome Spring, it's so good to see you again!! For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;
The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come... Song of Solomon 2:11-12a This weeks challenge was "Street Scene". I really wanted to take a photo downtown for this one. However, we were busy the first part of the week and ventured down to the Wichita Mountains the latter part. I never got a chance to go down town and I happened to get this shot in the mountains. Doubt I would have gotten anything better downtown, what do you think. Btw... this is one of the many reasons we love spending time in the Wichita's! "Street Scene"Week 11's challenge was "My Home". Well, since last week we started a project in the front of our house, why not let the, almost, finished project be the photo for my home this week. I strongly dislike winter! Did I mention I do NOT like winter? Maybe I should just say I do not like being cold. Therefor, I do not do any yard work until the temps reach above 50ish outside. This means our yard looks pretty sad come spring, we changed that this past week! We just need to put a little more pavers sand between the cracks on the stone walkway we created! When you come to my home, this is what you see now!! "My Home"This weeks photo challenge was "chore". This week we decided to pull these dying plants from our very drabby looking flower beds. This is not a weekly chore, but believe me, this project turned into a huge chore! "Chore"We have been trying to eat a ton more vegetables these days! Yay for that, but veges can get so boring, right?!? Anyhow, we chopped up pretty much everything in the photo above with the exception of the carrots and eggplant. (We'll save those for another day.) Then we chopped up 1 chicken breast. Tossed it all in a casserole dish with the oven preheating @ 300 degrees. Added about 2 tblsp of EV Olive Oil. Then to our likings we added salt, pepper, herbes de province, and garlic powder. Mixed well and placed in the oven for 1 hour. Above is before placing in oven. So bright and colorful! (are you as ready for the colors of summer as I am?!?) I topped mine with a little cayenne pepper! Absolutely delicious!
This weeks photo challenge is "color". Not real sure what to think of this photo, but it for sure has color! "Color"These two little cuties, below, came to town with their mommy and daddy! The little one was celebrating his birthday and we got to join them in the celebration! What better thing to do than go to the zoo on a pretty day?! We left the zoo just in time to spend a few minutes in the Science museum! Such a great time with family! Hope we get to do it again soon!!
