I got my girls dressed up to use as models for an upcoming Mini Session! These turned out so super cute! I also stole a few photos with Asa in them, like I said before, he does not tolerate my photo snapping obsession at all! Click -> HERE for more info on the MINI SESSIONS.
I never discourage my kids from bringing along a favorite toy for their photo shoot! We just work the toy in with the props! It's always fun to look back at their photos and see the toys they were attached to at different ages! I love "Life Style" photo sessions! "Sit Still and Smile" photo sessions are so not for me!!!
As I was finishing up with Hannah and the watermelon I caught "Little Miss" twirling her dress! The sun was just about gone, so the photos are a bit dark, still so fun!
I took head shots for Arm & Dolly LLC. They are a Five Star Moving Company in the Oklahoma City Area offering Home and Commercial Moves, Local and Long Distance Moves, Full Service Moves or Labor Only Moves. If you are looking for an easy move, call on these guys, they'll get the job done!
... and it just so happens to be I am madly in LoVe with one of the owners! Their web address is http://www.armanddolly.com/ .
This has been a project going on for several months. As I got a chance I peeled the paper from our bedroom wall. I've been so tired of staring at ugly gluey walls!
I tried several things I found on pinterest for removing this stuff and the best I found was just a water bottle and a putty knife. Spray it down and let it set for 2 or 3 minutes, then remove the top layer and repeat removing the second layer! Really not too hard, just time consuming. And I am happy to say it is all gone!!!!! (happy face here)
Below is our room, wall paper removed and a bit drab! But, Guess What!?!?
I talked my sweet hubs into getting paint!!! And it is so refreshing now! I am in LoVe with our super cute room! I will be taking one room at a time and giving them all a face lift!! We purchased paint from H-I-S Coatings on Reno. They sell recycled paint in 4 different colors. This one is a beige, I got an olive green color for the living area! eeek!!! I am so excited to get this place looking funtastic!! By the way, they sell the paint in 5 gallon buckets for $35! yep, that's right $35 for a 5 gallon bucket!!! (another happy face here!) If you know me, you know I LoVe a bargain!!
I have 8 kids for a couple of days! And yes! We can do this!
Because cousins just like to have fun!
Bible Club this month was on "Putting on the Whole Armor of God". The kids dressed up like soldiers, had an obstacle course, chants, dog tags and great lessons on being soldiers for the Lord!
Before Bible Club there was a Armed Forces Day Parade at the end of our street! Miss Felicity was so excited, I love her littleness (that is a word, right?)!
I love it when these tiny ones are dreaming while I take their first photos, however, Lydia was intrigued by my camera, it seems, and stayed wide awake the entire time! Wouldn't have gotten those precious eyes had they been closed! Congrats Boaz and Heather, she is truly gorgeous!!
Indonesian Satay with Peanut Sauce
First you need to cut your chicken or beef into bite size pieces. Then it needs to marinate for a few hours in sweet soy sauce (you will find this at an asian market).
And soak some skewers for a few hours. ( I only soaked mine for about 30 mins and some of them got burnt)
You'll need white steamed rice, I use my rice cooker.
We make an Indonesian dish Gadu Gadu with our Satay, because peanut sauce goes with it as well. So boil some eggs.
Steam some green beans and carrots. We use frozen of both.
And peel and slice a cucumber or two.
Start grilling your chicken.
While the chicken is on the grill make the peanut sauce.
I do not go by a recipe for the peanut sauce, I just dump things in. I use about a cup of crunchy and a cup of creamy. Add it to a saucepan.
Then I add about 5 tablespoons of chili sauce ( this is in the asian section of just about and grocery story). You can add more or less depending on how spicy you want it. Squeeze the juice of one lime and add some sweet soy sauce. I use around an 1/8 of a cup. Then add water to the consistency you prefer you sauce (it should not be too much as you don't want it runny).
Heat on low, stirring, until warm and creamy.
Your chicken should be done now! Enjoy!
This is a crowd pleaser at our house! Hope you like it as well!
~We all brought our bikes this year. I enjoyed riding mine to the shower house each evening! Everything fit into my big basket just fine!
~The campfire is always fun!
So we found a new, to us, hiking trail. We had to cross over these stairs to start the trail. Boy if we had known what a hike we had set out to! I think we went four or 5 miles!!
~If you want a really long but beautiful hiking trail, take this one!
~Asa on the lookout. Wait! No hunting on the refuge Asa!
~No worries! The kids did their schoolwork after our morning hikes. It was our downtime!
~Nothing better than a good ol' family devotion on the campgrounds!
~Sam cooked our bacon and eggs each morning while I made coffee and toast!
~hey! I was there too!! :)
~Oh give me a home where the BUFFALO roam....
~We took the kids to the forty foot hole! It's a pretty good hike up the mountain and then you have to climb back down into where the water is running. We saw a bright, pretty lizard on our way!
~Such a pretty sight to see! Our Creator knows just how to make things!
~My kids are tough! Not a sissy in the bunch. We got scrapes, cuts and bruises and bites, no tears from any of them! They enjoyed the hiking so much! We had to slow them down a few times and remind them we were up on a mountain.
~By the time we were done playing all three girls had slipped in!
~Time to hike back up and then back down!
~Turkey and deer visited our campsite daily! I had lots of flowers picked for me! Such fun memories made!
~We enjoyed our family time! Love these babies of mine!!
Last weekend a storm came through and left us quiet a bit of rain and left us without power for two days. With the clouds and no electricity, inside the house was kinda dark and dreary. This took us outside to play in the puddles.
These girls have so much fun together! Asa did not come out and enjoy the puddles, I'm guessing he is much to old and cool for this now. hehe
After playing in the puddles we decided to get out for a bite to eat. We took a drive down town. What else is there to do, right?!
Filled our bellies up at Zio's and then headed back to the house.
We even found a way to keep the coffee addiction going! :)
i LOVE spring!
~Back to mowing. He's telling me in this photo to not take a photo of him because he did not comb his hair. He could have cared less this time last year!
~our front flower beds are full~
~ The kids and I have been working hard in the backyard! We have lots of shade and not much grass around the porch. We planted grass in the section above and are doing some landscaping of sorts around as well! So much better than dirt!!
~When I'm working outside this girl is always right beside me!
We found a new flavor of ice cream at BRAUMS!!! Sea Salt Caramel Cashew! Delicious!!
Kylie and Mia
Why is it that your favorite photo is the one that ends up blurry? I had to share it anyhow! It might be one of my favorites because it's one of the few she let me take without her doll!
Photo shoots with Kylie Joy have always been crazy! She is full of silliness!
She had to have her photo taken with her chick!
Played around in photoshop with the coloring on this one! Fun!
