This skirt!  Okay, so I really didn't like it long (to my ankles).  My intentions were to cut it off at the top and put a waistband in it for Hannah.  However, after cutting the top portion off, and adding a small strip of lace here and there, I decided I liked it.  It hits below my knees and looks great with boots and a denim jacket!  It's fall-ish,  and I can't wait to have somewhere to go to wear it!
Picture
Anyhow, I hope you all have a very LoVeLy week!  I here we may see our first snow flurries in a few days!  That means fuzzy socks, a cup of cocoa and cozy blankets may be needed!

This just might be one of my favorite projects ever!!  It turned out so perfect!!  She is waiting until in the morning to decorate her shelves.  We got the last (5th) coat of pain on around 7:30pm tonight.  We want the paint to dry a bit more before it gets all filled up with her favorite things.  A few things I learned from this 'makeover':   #1. Do not buy paint at Walmart unless you want to paint and paint and paint.  Number 2. If you are going to paint a piece of furniture and there are cracks in between the pieces of wood, caulk them in. (wish I would have done that)  Numero Tres. If your girl wants a shelf, get her one, 'cause your gonna love it as much as she does!!

Hope your having a LoVely Week!

happy Friday!!  The last Friday in October!  This year is flying by, so hard to believe next Friday we will be in the fullness of the Holiday season!  I love Thanksgiving time. Fall. Pumpkin Pie. Colorful trees. Crisp air. Flannel. Blankets. Camp fire.  OOOOWEEE !! Let's Celebrate!!  But first, work must be done! haha  This shelf, I prayed for this beauty!  My youngest has been wanting a shelf on her bed for over a year now.  I have put it off way too long.  Her sisters have a bunk bed and the headboard of each of their beds has two shelves.  They decorate (and sometimes clutter up) their shelves all the time.  Lis feels left out, she just has a bed on a metal frame.  So I searched online and found a headboard that has shelves that you just put behind a bed like hers.  It was a whopping $89.  She loved it.  I couldn't get myself to pay that much just to have a few shelves behind her bed.  So, I looked on pinterest for some DIY ideas and saw that some people had just put bookcases behind the bed and I really liked the way it looked.  We found this shelf at the Goodwill for $15.  It is solid wood.  It's a bit of a mess but after some sanding and a coat of white paint I'm sure we will be in LoVe!!  I do have a packed out weekend, check back on Monday to see if we have our Monday Makeover.  If it is not posted, it will definitely be up on the following Monday!  The plan is to have it finished by the end of the weekend!  Fingers crossed!

Sure hope you all have a super happy weekend!  See ya Monday!

If you have followed my blog long, I am sure you are not surprised I turned our hideous Friday Find into a skirt for the girls!  We added some super cute contrasting pockets on the sides to make it a bit more girly! My sweet Hannah has not been feeling well, thus no cute little face in this photo, I promised her I would just take a photo of the skirt this time.

I know this is a really odd Friday finds today.  But wait, don't judge me yet!!  I bought this to repurpose it into something for my girls.  This dress cost me less than a buck.  For some crazy reason this idea popped into my head a day or two ago... Friday Finds to Monday Makeovers!  I am super excited about this idea.  On Fridays I will share a thrift store find and on Mondays I  will share the final product!!

I blinked, and it happened, just like that.  This handsome, big hearted, caring, moody, singing, music loving, always dancing around teenager is 14 today.  I'm still trying to figure out how this happened.  His voice is deeper than his dads.  He sings bass in the choir.  His foot is bigger than mine and He is catching up in height.  I'm afraid to blink again, can't imagine him any older!  Love you to the moon and back and back and back!  Keep on smilin' kid and joking around 'Ace', it's contagious!

Photos can be so deceiving!  Really though!  Have you ever had one of those days where you put the cereal in the fridge and the milk in the cupboard?!? This was one of those days. I blame it all on the recent stress of the story I told you in my last post I would share soon. (Those who have me personally on facebook already know about it.) I drove out to Moore to take these.  The night before I went to Lowes and purchased this large sheet of paneling(which I adore) to use in my photo shoots.  I will not carry this thing around with me to every shoot (it is a whopping 8ft x 4.5ft or something close to that). I will use it when the babies come to me.  However, I made an exception this time because this baby's mommys car is out of commission and I was dying to try out my new "diy" project aka "a baby princess bed photo prop"!  So I get there and start setting up and cannot find my backdrops, non of them.  Thinking to myself I say, "I know I checked to make sure they were still in the trunk,"  When "trunk" hit my mind I soon realized I did indeed make sure they were in the trunk of my car, then I loaded everything else up into the truck because an 8ft x 4.5ft piece of wood cannot fit in my trunk.  I hopped in the truck and drove off.  grrr  So as I'm really frustrated, not wanting to drive all the back to Del City, we looked around the house and found this beautiful blanket on one of the beds. I kinda want to go back and steal it! Would any of you tell on me?!?  That's not all that is deceiving about these photos... Saraya, the older sister here, was supposed to be in some photos too.  She acted up the whole time, well, let's be honest about it, she acted like most 3 year olds getting their photos taken.  She kept sticking her tongue out at me, we finally just decided to let her go play and focus on the baby.  After she went into the kitchen and fed herself a red popsicle and some other snacks she jumped into the pics and look what we got.  Amazing! haha  ...you just never know!
(My craziness did not end there. I had another shoot later in the day.  I set my kelvin temp on the camera real low when doing indoor shoots so the pics do not turn out too orangy.  I shot all of the next shoot with it still low.  It was an outdoor shoot, the pics turned out pretty much blue.  Lots of photoshopping to fix my error coming soon. ~another grrr)

Oh well, It's Saturday, sMiLe, drink coffee, and hug your babies because they are rapidly growing right before your eyes!  Check back soon to see the other shoot (the blue one)!  :)

WooWee!  This is an exciting find!!  While shopping at Aldi this week I found these adorable insulated RAINBOOTS!  I was worried they wouldn't fit because Lis wears a 12 and these are sized 11/12.  They fit her perfect, maybe even a little growing room!  @ $11.99 I was pleased with this find, however, it did make me go over my Aldi shopping budget (oops)!
Picture
Aren't they just so cute though?!?
Check out my wood backdrop, I found a piece  of paneling that is textured just like wood!
I'm in LoVe!
Picture
I found the time this week to get my mailbox painted.  I bought spraypaint for this months ago.  Our mailbox was black but mostly rusted, it had black and gold letters that I just know were from the 80's.  Did I mention the broken yellowish (maybe used to be gold) eagle nailed right in the middle of it?!?  All I need to do now is get some lettering for the address!
Picture
I found that Khols has there fall candles on sale for $5.99.
Fall Festival is the scent I went with, I love it!!
Picture
I found this candle a while back, also found awhile back that Choosing Happiness is the best thing to choose!  It definitely smells like Autumn with these two candles burning!
Picture
I made sure to find all my fall spices while shopping at Aldi this week!  We cannot run out of these!  Lots of baking coming up in our near future!!
I love fall flavors, but... PUMPKIN Pie Spice first!
Picture
I also found a few pumpkins at Aldi!  They are less than $3.
I doubt you can get them cheaper anywhere else!
That bag hanging on the chair is another Autumn find!!
Scented pine cones, my porch smells something close to heaven right now!
Picture
We found time to go to the park this week!
Picture
I'll leave you with this photo of my girls.  I have a story to share of why this photo means so much to me.  We'll save that for later though!  For now, have a lovely weekend!  Check back in soon, we had two photo shoots today!  Will post their story soon!

I found this flannel a few weeks back.
Found the time today to make Lis a fall skirt out of it!!
Picture
I looked on Pinterest today and found a way to clean the grout in the entry way!
It looks so much better.  Not sure why I picked a really rainy day to do such a thing, but I did.
Picture
Just in case your wondering what I used...
Picture
1/4 cup peroxide
1/2 cup baking soda (this box of soda has been under my sink capturing odors for like 4 years or so now, I was afraid it wouldn't work, but it did!!)
1 tsp dish soap (my dish soap is from my favorite all things safe and eco friendly company "Melaleuca, the Wellness Company"!  If you are interested in their products, please!!! contact me!!!)
Picture
Hope you all have an awesome weekend!  Looks like a lot of rain in our forecast, guess I will be stuck inside sewing!!!  So thankful for all our seasons!  There is beauty in all of them!

Fill My Cup Lord ~ with TRUST
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.   Psalm 28:7

Have you ever woke up and worried if God was able to hold the Universe together that day?  Have you ever worried that the stars were all going to fall or the earth stop spinning?  If we can trust God to run the Universe and hold it all in place, can’t we trust Him to take care of the small and even large “stuff” in our lives!

We read this in  Jeremiah 32:17-27,

17 Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:  18 Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the Lord of hosts, is his name,  19 Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:  20 Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day;  21 And hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with great terror;  22 And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;  23 And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:24 Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.25 And thou hast said unto me, O Lord God, Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.  26 Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying,  27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

He has us in the palm of His hands.  He cares for us much more than cares for the things on the earth. When our thoughts bring us to unsure places, we need to remember these verses in Matthew chapter 6.

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?  26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?  27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:  29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?  31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?  32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.  33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Think of all the things God trusts us with.  Our kids, teaching the children and ladies in church, the very important duty of winning souls. He trusts us to make wise choices and keep good testimonies.  He trusts us in big things and in small things.  Shouldn’t we do the same for Him.  Sadly, we fail Him daily.  However, He will never leave us nor forsake us.  He is always in control, always caring, always knowing and always right on time!
No matter what we face, no matter what we are going through, we must trust in is everlasting strength to get us through.

Isaiah 26
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.  4 Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:

Psalm 373 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.  4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.  26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble.  40 And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

Psalm 18
1 I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.  2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Habakkuk 3
17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:  18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.  19 The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.

Talk to Him, get close to Him, tell Him everything on your heart.  Sure He already knows, but He wants to hear from you.  Trust Him to take care of it all.  All of your concerns and all of your worries.  He has shown over and over again, He is Trustworthy.
Simply, TRUST Him.

Psalm 77
11 I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.  12 I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.  13 Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?  14 Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.

Psalm 56
3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.  4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Jeremiah 17
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.  8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Proverbs 3
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

1 Peter 5
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:  7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Philippians 4
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.  12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.  13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Trusting is hard for us because it means giving control of our lives and/or our situation.  What we need to remember is that man will fail us, but God will Not!

Hebrews 13:5
For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Psalm 18
2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Psalm 62
6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.  7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.  8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Give your worries, concerns and fears to Him today!  Lay them at the feet of Jesus.  Leave them there, Do Not pick them back up again!  Draw close to Him and He will draw close to you.  Pray without ceasing and Give Him the glory in all you do!  Then you can boldly say, “ My cup runneth over!”   Trust Him!

For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things:
to whom be glory for ever. Amen.  Romans 11:36
